Speaking
I am an international speaker, researcher and hypnotherapist specialising in aphantasia, hypnosis, personal development and neurodivergence.
My talks explore these topics through the lens of different thinking styles and internal experiences.
While aphantasia is often described as the inability to visualise, it can also affect other internal senses (hearing, smell, taste, touch). Its impact extends far beyond mental imagery, influencing memory, learning, emotional processing and the ways people engage with therapeutic and personal development approaches.
Through a combination of research, professional expertise and lived experience, I help people better understand how different minds work and how to find approaches that fit the way they naturally think and experience the world.

For People with Aphantasia & General Audiences
Aphantasia is Not THE Problem:
Rethinking What's Really
Holding You Back

For some people, discovering they have aphantasia is a lightbulb moment. For others, it can trigger feelings of loss, grief or frustration.
Some begin to see aphantasia as the explanation for every struggle, disappointment or difficulty they have experienced in life.
But is aphantasia really the problem?
This thought-provoking talk explores the beliefs we develop about ourselves after discovering we think differently, and how these beliefs can sometimes become more limiting than aphantasia itself.
Participants will learn how to move beyond a deficit-based view of aphantasia, identify the real barriers standing in their way, and develop a more empowering and realistic understanding of what is possible.
While aphantasia may change how you approach things, it does not determine what you can achieve.
Can Hypnosis Work if You Can't Visualise?
Many people assume that hypnosis, meditation and other therapeutic or wellbeing approaches require the ability to create mental images.
But what if you can't visualise?
This engaging and myth-busting talk explores what aphantasia is, how it affects the way people experience hypnosis and other imagery-based approaches, and why the inability to visualise does not prevent change, relaxation, confidence or personal growth.
Participants will discover practical alternatives to visualisation-based techniques and learn how people with aphantasia can work effectively with their minds without relying on mental imagery.
Whether you're interested in hypnosis, therapy, wellbeing or personal development, this talk offers reassurance, practical insights and a fresh perspective on what is possible.
Aphantasia and the Neurodivergent Mind
Aphantasia can be the starting point for a much bigger journey of self-discovery.
But aphantasia is often only part of the story.
Research and lived experience suggest that aphantasia often co-occurs with other forms of neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism. As a result, people sometimes attribute personality traits, strengths, challenges or life experiences to aphantasia that may actually have different origins.
This fascinating and thought-provoking talk explores the relationship between aphantasia and neurodivergence, helping audiences better understand the many factors that shape how we think, learn, remember and experience the world.
Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of themselves, greater self-compassion, and a broader perspective on the diversity of human minds.
For Professionals
Beyond Visualisation:
Working Effectively with Aphantasic Clients

Many therapeutic, coaching and hypnosis approaches assume that clients can easily create mental images. But what happens when they can't?
This practical and evidence-informed presentation introduces professionals to aphantasia and its implications for therapy, coaching and hypnosis.
Participants will learn how to recognise aphantasia, understand how it may influence the client experience, and adapt visualisation-based techniques to work more effectively with people who think primarily in words, concepts or other non-visual ways.
Combining current research, clinical insights and practical examples, this talk provides attendees with tools and strategies they can immediately apply in their work with clients with aphantasia and other non-visual thinking styles.
